Via Veneto Apartment in Rome

One Bedroom, One Bath with all the Amenities

Sleeps 2 + 2

One block from the Via Veneto, this apartment has more than just location. It has recently been renovated and has all the amenities vacationers or business travelers want.

You will want for nothing in this bright and clean apartment in a wonderful location in the heart of fashionable Rome. The Via Veneto remains the place to be seen, whether you are strolling and enjoying the window displays of the fashionable shops, or sipping a drink in the cafes that line the street. Fine restaurants abound in the neighborhood. The American embassy and some of the grandest hotels in the city can also be found nearby.

Location

The villa Borghese is just two blocks away so if you want to stroll, jog, or bicycle, it is very convenient. And if you have children, this is a great place to take them. Tethered in the Villa Borghese, there is a hot air balloon that you can ride up into the sky for a bird's eye view of Rome.

You are right at the top of the winding Via Veneto, near the Porta Pinciana gate of the ancient Roman walls. Stroll down the Via Veneto past myriad cafes, to Piazza Barberini and its Triton fountain.

This is on a cross street to Via Veneto, intersecting next to the Metro station entrance. The Metro will whisk you off to places such as the Coliseum and the train station. And through the station escalators, you have an easy link to the Spanish Steps, which is your gateway to even more fashion shopping, more restaurants, and the Trevi fountain. Beyond are the Via del Corso, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and Campo dei Fiori areas. Estimate five minutes walk to the Spanish Steps and fifteen to twenty minutes more to the Campo dei Fiori with many sights to see in between.

Building

The Via Veneto apartment is in a fine old building. You can appreciate the heavy door and a spacious entry area. A doorman enhances the security. A hairdresser is on the ground floor, very convenient.

Apartment Interior

Although the streets in this area carry their share of local traffic, this apartment is internal and the street noise does not reach you here. Each room -- living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom -- has a window onto the internal courtyard. There is nothing to remark in the view, but because you are high in the building, plenty of sunlight enters the apartment.

The comfortably-sized living room is furnished with micro-suede covered sofa and matching easy chair, coffee table, desk and chair, an entry table, and an entertainment center that contains a satellite television and DVD player.

ADSL internet connection can be arranged at no additional charge, giving you a chance to work from Rome with no one the wiser. The apartment does not have a telephone; but you may take advantage of a loaner cell phone.

The separate, eat-in kitchen has all you need to prepare and serve a lovely meal. There is, uniquely, a full height refrigerator with a freezer that will hold more than ice trays. A four burner gas cook top, oven, and microwave offer multiple cooking options. Make your coffee with a drip coffee maker or an Italian espresso pot. Pots, pans, utensils and dishes are all there as well as a dishwasher to clean them up.

A single hallway links living room to bedroom, running past the kitchen and bath. It was remodeled to provide ample storage.

The bathroom has a large shower stall and a stacked washer and dryer.

The bedroom is comfortably sized with a queen sized bed, television, full length mirror and closet.

We enjoyed staying in this apartment.  Our opinion:

  • Everything has been considered, so it has all the amenities.

  • Well organized, clean and comfortable.

  • We liked being so conveniently located.

  • The location right off the Via Veneto is tops.

  • No street noise could be heard.

  • Great for light sleepers, very quiet.

  • The table barely seats four, three yes.

  • The view of the other buildings around the central courtyard is not interesting, but not unpleasant either.

  • Safe, pleasant neighborhood, far enough from the train station area while still just two stops away on the subway.

Everything was Great, loved the location very easy to get to the subway from our place. Very safe feeling. Really liked Leons cafe across the street super friendly and helpfull The Kitchen was great and the supermarket was close and convenient. shopping on Via Veneto was awsome very nice places to eat close by.
I thought your service was the most professtional of all the places we have stayed.
Thanks Aron, Saskatchewan, March 2008

Your restaurant list is fabulous, we were delighted with them all and ate only off that list. Your driver is a great find. The apartment is wonderful. It is very well located, easy to get to. It was hot and we ran the air conditioning in both rooms all night every night and ended up owing only E3.5; we would have paid ten times that much for the comfort. At an ATM machine near the Pantheon our card data was stolen and our account shut down. Citibank, thankfully, was very helpful, but tell your guests to be careful.

Well, we are back from a wonderful trip. The Rome apartment was very nice as advertised, and we had a chance to meet and chat with the manager. Interesting and pleasant man. We did spend over half and hour cooling our heels in front of the place with our suitcases because the driver didn't speak English well enough to make the call for us to be greeted, even though I made three attempts to convey that information. Rome is marvelous, as you know. The weather was fine, and the only glitch was that I got a bad blister from too much walking which slowed me down some. We definitely want to go back. Greece was also terrific. All in all, a great vacation.

Accommodation exactly as described with helpful greeting etc. We really enjoyed the sandwiches/panini with things you would never eat in a sandwich at home and that could be bought any way and eaten on the run. In my view Italy survives as a nation due only to the the people who were without exception helpful and friendly living the the chaos that is the country. The location is good. Not long to the city, and next to a nice park, with cafes around - it was good. There is a coffee shop, ~30m to the left when you come out of the building. They were more than helpful - and the coffee was excellent. Do not rely on the tourist bus tours. Especially the Archaeological tour. The timetable is advisory at best, and they do not always stop. The standard busses and metro service were more reliable! Actually, you have been very good - but a situation map showing the actual building location in the street would have been useful on the first day. Anthony F, Norway, April 2007

The owner of the apartment was absolutely fantastic, so helpful and kind it was a pleasure doing business with him. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the apartment to anyone nor use it again ourselves should the need arise.

Many thanks also for your thorough follow through of the booking, very reassuring to arrive somewhere and it all be as planned – no nasty surprises!!

Accommodations: Fabulous, well set out apartment. ... it was wonderful to come ‘home’ after a long day of sightseeing and have room to move.

Problems: Only that it can be hard to be super quiet for the neighbours when traveling with children especially when one local resident takes her Great Dane dog in the lift after exercising him (rather smelly!) [Actually, it is a Neapolitan Mastiff, a descendant of the ancient Romans' dogs of war, a big dog! ~Pat the History Geek]

Location: Lovely, nice to be that little bit removed from the tourist area. Not so sure that the Borghese Gardens lived up to expectations but it may have been the lack of signage more than the place

Recommendations: Supermarket within walking distance (it’s on the pedestrian subway to Spanish Steps) Don’t go in the middle of summer!! (much too hot) however if you must the apartment has a fantastic air conditioner. Make sure you buy tickets online to avoid the queues. Michelle W, July 2006

The apartment was wonderful. A real oasis in Rome!

Helpful hint: ...driving in Rome is not for the faint at heart - or those afraid of being lost forever. Disty P., July 2005

The apartment was very nice and quiet. I loved being able to run in Villa Borghese. Having the metro stop so close was great. Robin C., June 2005
