This light-filled Italian style apartment is on the top floor of a typical Florentine building from the settecento or 1700s. An elevator takes you one floor below the recently renovated and nicely decorated two bedroom apartment. A small terrace and large triple windows open onto a view of the red tiled roof tops of Florence. The apartment is very quiet; it is high and faces away from the street. The ceilings have exposed wood beams, columns have stone capitals, and warm parquet floors are comfortable year-round.

The living room is spacious with three tall windows and a small private terrace. Two comfortable sofas allow you to entertain or just spread out. An armchair can be converted to a single bed. The dining table seats six and you will appreciate the antique Tuscan sideboard.

There are two bedrooms and one and a half baths. The larger has a shower and heated towel racks. The master bedroom has a king/twin combination with en-suite bath; two twin beds can be made up as a single king or twins depending on your preference. The small bedroom has a skylight; the bed is a French single, i.e. a bed that is generous for one person and cozy for two.

The small kitchen is a separate room. It is complete and is equipped for an extended stay with a small refrigerator with freezer compartment, American-style (drip) coffee maker, microwave, dishes, glasses, saucepans, and crockery. The ceiling under the eves descends over the counter top so the height could be a problem for tall cooks. The open air market in Piazza Santo Spirito is nearby, the perfect place to shop for your food. 

This apartment is very well fitted out with washing machine, air conditioning, color television, sheets, towels, tablecloth, iron and ironing board.

The location is in the Santo Spirito area across the river from Piazza Goldoni. All of historical Florence is within an easy walk, just five minutes to the Ponte Vecchio and Piazza Signoria. 

We have inspected this apartment and our opinion is:

• The neighborhood is very complete with shops and well-located for sightseeing
• The terrace, though small, is just super, letting in light and fresh air.
• This is a small apartment, but the second bedroom and bath really add to its utility.
• The decorating of the apartment is good if a little too ornate for our taste.

Two Bedroom Apartment in Central Florence

Warm and comfortable, the living room and dining area with arched doorways and exposed beams.

The dining table seats six. French doors lead to the private terrace.

Tuscan antiques glow in the brightly lit living room.

The kitchen may be compact but it is fully equipped.

The master bedroom also opens onto the terrace so is filled with light.

The second bedroom has a French twin bed, about the size of a double bed. 

In the yellow bathroom, you'll find the washing machine as well as up to date fixtures.
